The Kaliningrad APPAREL:
- Since 1999 has been successfully working in Kaliningrad Region, the westernmost “amber territory” of Russia;
- Unites young (19 to 24 years old) disabled persons, protects their rights and legal interests, contributes to improving their living level and quality;
- Promotes activating own personal reserves of disabled youth (instead of the psychology of passive waiting for help from the others);
- Forms in the society conditions for self-supporting life of disabled persons, contributes to elimination of physical and psychological barriers that prevent from participating in the society life equal to other citizens;
- Is supported by federal, regional and local administrative structures, public and commercial organizations, private persons;
- Provides disabled people with free information & reference and consulting services;
- Arranges training of employees and activists in different lines of public activity;
- Takes part in development of new methods and models of rehabilitation of disabled people;
- Actively uses advanced experience allowing to become stronger, more efficiently help our clients and more widely attract the public interest to our work;
- Places in mass media information and problem materials aimed at improving the public opinion in regard to disabled people and their organizations;
- Performs the work on methodical, informational and other kinds of help to social organizations that work in favor of disabled people;
- Gathers and analyzes statutory acts, methodical and reference materials on the disability matters;
- Doesn’t confine itself to contacts in own region and dynamically develops relations with organizations from other regions of Russia, supports direct international contacts with foreign partners;
- Improves the efficiency of donations and renders assistance to donors in getting access to information on legal aspects of charitable activity and tax preferences;
- Develops and strengthens the interaction between business, authorities and general public;
- Tries to do its best to make the region inhabitants become aware of the scale of the existing problem and take adequate measures.
